I am Oregon born and raised, and am continuously grateful to call this beautiful place my home!
Creativity continues to be an important part of my life, including both painting and drawing. Some of my other favorite activities include knitting/crocheting, seeing live music, traveling, spending time near water, and a good board game night with friends.
MY VALUES
I believe in the power of connection and curiosity, and I strive to meet clients with compassion, wherever they are on their healing journeys. I am committed to providing therapy that is collaborative, responsive, and affirming. Though I do not identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community, I am an ally and am committed to understanding dynamics of privilege and oppression.
I am Neurodivergent affirming and Health at Every Size (HAES) informed.
MY EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND TRAINING
I graduated from The Evergreen State College in 2005, with a BA in Fine Arts. I then completed a Masters in Art Therapy Counseling from Marylhurst University in 2011. I have experience working in a variety of clinical settings, including residential/subacute care, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, community mental health, and outpatient therapy. I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Oregon since 2015.
Along the way, I have discovered a passion for working with trauma, including complex and developmental trauma. I enjoy helping clients learn about how early attachment patterns continue to show up in their relationships as adults. I don’t view any emotion or coping strategy as “bad”, but rather encourage the client to become curious about the functionality of this feeling or behavior.
I would describe my therapeutic style as relational, responsive, and eclectic, meaning I don’t adhere to one modality exclusively. I am trained in Somatic and Attachment Focused (SAFE) EMDR and also utilize modalities such as ACT, Mindfulness, Compassion-Focused Therapy, and expressive arts in my work with clients.
